Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. — Ephesians 5:15-16 (NIV)

TAKE ACTION

In Ephesians 5, Paul emphasizes that Christians should focus daily on taking advantage of every opportunity that arises.  Here an opportunity is an opening to use personal time to glorify God.  In glorifying God, we make the best use of our time.  Celebrate tackling opportunities!

Opportunities to glorify God can literally arise in all aspects of our lives like business dealings, marriage challenges, and raising children. Taking advantage of opportunities to glorify God will eliminate unpleasantries (evil) in our lives. 

Hints for making the most of opportunities:

1. Clearly identify opportunities.
2. Outline steps to tackle opportunities.
3. Take steps you’ve outlined.
4. Determine if steps taken have properly addressed identified opportunity.If “no”, try again. If “yes”, tackle another opportunity.
